San Diego Shore Excursion: San Diego Seal Tour

Tours San Diego
$42
While you're in port in San Diego, explore the city by both land and sea on the San Diego Seal Tour – the Southern California version of the duck tour. On an amphibious vehicle that travels on land and in water, you'll spend this shore excursion driving along the waterfront and splashing into San Diego Bay. It's a fun-filled adventure for the whole family.

This 90-minute shore excursion is a fantastic way to see the best of the San Diego waterfront and San Diego Bay during your limited time in port. On an amphibious vehicle that drives both on land and in water, you'll depart from Seaport Village, located on Harbor Drive at the Embarcadero.

As you travel along the beautiful bay by land, you will hear stories of early sailors and the history of the bay. You also will learn about the importance of the military in San Diego, home to several US Navy and US Marine stations. Pass by San Diego International Airport, dedicated to aviator Charles Lindbergh, just one of the many people you will hear about on your San Diego Seal Tour.

Then, you will splash down into San Diego Bay from Shelter Island, where you begin the water portion of the journey. As the seal boat travels through the north end of the Big Bay, as it's often called, keep your eyes peeled for a chance encounter with a California brown pelican. The Big Bay provides views of Point Loma (home to the Cabrillo National Monument), Naval Air Station North Island, the Point Loma Submarine Base and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The area is also a popular playground for seals and sea lions, so don't look away from the water for a second!

You will head back and land and return to your starting point via Harbor Drive, passing the Maritime Museum and cruise ship terminal along the way.

Tour route is subject to change without notice due to weather or traffic conditions.

Please note:
This excursion is located within a 5-minute walk to the cruise port, so you determine the time you return to your ship in San Diego port. Please allow yourself ample time to enjoy the excursion and ensure your timely return to the port. This excursion is not covered by our worry-free policy.

Another was built in November of 1929, right before the 1930 "St. Valentine's Day Massacre." It was owned by a detective agency in Chicago that used it to transport a gangster-sniffing bloodhound. The third biplane was fully restored and looks like it just came off the showroom floor!

La Jolla Shores in San Diego is the perfect setting to learn the invigorating and fun sport of stand-up paddleboarding. Great instructors and easy-to-use equipment will make this experience unforgettable. No prior surfing experience is needed to enjoy paddle surfing – it's the latest water craze hitting oceans and lakes across the globe, and you can master it with this enjoyable lesson.

Your lesson takes place in the lovely setting of La Jolla Shores, one of the best beaches in the northern San Diego area. You will begin with an introduction to stand-up paddleboarding (also known as stand-up paddle surfing) to get a good grasp of the basic paddling principles. Then you'll start the in-water portion of your lesson close to shore on the flat water.

You'll cover topics of surf sense, ocean awareness, board handling and the float plan. You will learn the proper stance, how to balance, how to get up, efficient paddling techniques, steering and how to turn around quickly. Once you have your balance, you'll realize that stand-up paddling is a very pleasant way to tour the ocean.

This paddleboarding location is in one of the most idyllic spots on the west coast; La Jolla Cove and ecological preserve is a scenic and environmentally protected aquatic park with clear water and sweeping views of cliffs and caves. Keep your eyes open for the occasional sea lion, dolphin, garibaldi or sea bass.

Please note: SUP instructors are certified in CPR, first aid and lifesaving and the surf school is permitted by the City of San Diego.

Salsa Dance Class Oceanside-California

Theater, Dance, & Musicals San Diego
$17

Salsa music and dancing is something that brings so much joy and social time into your life! Get to know the rhythms of salsa dance through a 8 week beginners course in Salsa Dance LA Style. In a small group, you will be guided through the first steps of Salsa dance in a fun and easy way, so you are ready to hit the dance floor right away.

Your instructor will be Cindy de Groot who has years of international and professional dance and teaching experience. She is originally from The Netherlands and lived in Puerto Rico for several years where she has deepened her knowledge of latin dancing.

The course is designed for students without dance background or experience, neither a dance partner is needed to join in.

Dress in comfortable, casual clothing, high heels or dance shoes preferred. No tennis shoes or sandals.

Since 2003 I have been dancing professionally in theatre, shows and events. Several years later I choose to dedicate my career to mostly teaching, rather than performing. Originating from Holland, I have been active internationally, to deepen, but also to spread my knowledge of dance and yoga. A few of the highlights were Australia, The Maldives, Puerto Rico an Dominican Republic to name a few. Travelling is one of my biggest passions besides dance and it has brought me where i am today, California.

Through movement, weather it is dance or yoga I hope to be able to let my students better connect with themselves and with their surroundings, to motivate them to make healthy life choices and changes where necessary, to express that what is within, to relax and simply enjoy a moment for themselves.
