Go for a private, guided bike tour through Central Park that ends at one of the best breweries in NYC. This tour packs in a lot of highlights that will show you all the sites - from the familiar to the unique - as a licensed NYC sightseeing guide pedals with you through Central Park and on to Randalls Island, with its stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and unique features, including the enormous Hell Gate Bridge...and the bike path underneath it. Follow the pathway to the Bronx where you'll receive a warm greeting at the Bronx Brewery and a tasting of up to eight 5-ounce glasses of freshly brewed beer. Depending on your preferences, enjoy lunch on Randalls Island or at the Brewery. The total distance of the ride is between 8 and 12 miles.  After you are done at the Brewery, we'll send you back to Manhattan with car service, included in the package.

This is a private bike tour that can be done for groups between 2 and 6 people. All rides are guided by a licensed NYC Sightseeing Guide. Start time is flexible, but we recommend meeting no later than 12 noon to ensure you have enough time to enjoy the brewery.

The route of the ride heads directly to Central Park where your group can explore the park from the bicycle-friendly roadway that encircles the park. Our knowledgeable guide can show you any of the park's highlights you are interested in seeing as well as explain the history or features of the park to your group. We exit the park at the northern end and make our way to Randalls Island, which offers a number of car-free bike paths with breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and up-close encounters with some of NYC's most iconic bridges. Take your time to explore the island by riding around as much as you like. Your guide can again provide you insight about anything of interest to your group.

Private Hudson Valley Craft Brewery Bike Tour with Lunch

Private Tours New York
$925
Enjoy a bike ride to one of the best craft breweries in the New York City Metro region on this full-day private bike tour. Take the Hudson Valley's 'Old-Put' bike path to the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company. Just hop on the Metro-North train in Manhattan and we'll meet you at your arrival station with your bikes. Then travel down 35 miles of scenic, car-free rail trails with a great picnic lunch halfway. At the end of the ride, sample up to 10 tastings of locally famous beer. Transportation will be waiting to drive guests back to the train station afterwards to return to Manhattan. Tour is all-inclusive with rail tickets, lunch, bikes and beer tasting all included.

The Putnam Division of the New York Central Railroad – also known as the 'Old Put' – used to chug commuters into New York City from communities in Westchester and Putnam Counties. First run with steam trains, then with diesels, the route was ultimately abandoned in the 1950s as the region's highways were constructed. Fortunately, much of the right-of-way railroad was left in tact, and now it is a bike path stretching 48 miles between Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx and Brewster.

This bike tour will travel on the northernmost 35 miles of this trail, a ride that is mostly free of cars, with plenty of scenic views along the way. Enjoy how close it is to New York City and its suburbs while riding this trail. Historic markers and remnants of the old railroad line the route, giving travelers an opportunity to learn about the history of the railroad and the communities it served.

Upon reaching the end of the ride, experience the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company and have a tasting of up to 10 beers.

The ride begins at the north end of the 'Old Put' in Brewster, NY. Take the Metro-North train to Brewster and meet the tour leaders there who will have your bikes ready to go. They also will supply energy bars, snacks, and water before sending riders 'down the line.' The recommended train departs Grand Central at 8:50am, Harlem-125th Street at 9am, or Fordham at 9:08am. If not coming from NYC, drive to the North White Plains train station and park for free. Then board this same train at 9:30am.

From Brewster, it is a beautiful 35-mile ride under an almost continuous canopy of trees, with plenty of interesting sights along the way. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the midway point (lunch is provided), then ride on to the 'last stop' in Elmsford at the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company. Sample up to 10 of their beers. When the brewery closes at 6pm, all cyclists will be transported to the North White Plains train station for the train ride home (or to meet a car, if parked there).

Vehicle support is offered on this tour. That means the guides are there for the riders if they can't finish the ride, or if experiencing a breakdown with a bike. They provide the pickup.

Private Walking Tour of Queens

Private Tours New York
$350

You're visiting New York City and you're thinking there's nothing much to do or see in Queens, right?

Well, you're wrong!

Join me for one of the most popular tours I've lead since 2012! This tour will open your eyes to the "Worlds' Borough", the most diverse county in USA.

We'll be visiting three very distinct, and unique neighborhoods. If you want to see the diversity, the cultural significance and history in the largest borough of New York City you have to join us for a tour.

We will utilize subway.

The tour last about 4 hours and include a stop at a place for a quick bite (not included in rate)

We will talk general history of NYC, as well as an aspect of what it means to be an immigrant in today's NYC, as your tour guide is not a native New Yorker but someone who worked hard to make this amazing city home.

JOIN US, and take home a memory that will be a highlight of your trip!

There are around 400 neighborhoods in New York City, and 99 of them are in Queens. On this tour, a local tour guide will present a side of the Big Apple very few tourists gets to see. Enjoy a leisurely walk from neighborhood to neighborhood encountering different cultures, tastes, and scents, and experiencing a part of the authentic New York City.

Much attention is given to Brooklyn and Manhattan, leaving the other boroughs untouched, undiscovered, and more importantly, misunderstood by visitors. But these places are said to showcase 'authentic' New York: the Bronx, Staten Island, and Queens each have amazing history, buildings, and cultures to offer.

The best way to discover these areas is on foot with a local guide.

Queens is one of the most diverse counties in the country, with almost 70 percent of its residents from outside the US with more than 200 languages spoken. Hop on the 'International Express,' traveling from Manhattan to Queens, and encounter different cultures at every stop — all with the swipe of a MetroCard.

Next make your way to the Brown Building, site of the infamous Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. Victims of this tragedy are said to still wander the building's halls to this day.

Stroll up 5th Avenue to see the Church of the Ascension — supposedly haunted by artist John Lafarge — before stopping at 14 West 10th Street, reportedly the most haunted residential address in Manhattan. Courtesans, royal mistresses, and scandalous women of every sort. The walls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art are lined with them, from the ancient Greek 'hetaerae' to Sargent's Madame X and beyond. These sexy women — often also intelligent, educated, wealthy, or even powerful — were key members of the political and cultural elites of their time. They fascinated patrons and artists alike, from Praxiteles to Titian to Manet. But who were they? What were their stories? To find out, explore the lives and loves that lie behind the paintings.

On this private 2-hour, an art historian will walk you through the Met and provide an orientation into the vast museum while showing an entirely new, intriguing side of art. Fabulous Fashion Tour of the Metropolitan Museum Private tour

Private Tours New York
$400
On this 2 hour walking tour, your PhD art historian guide will lead you through a number of different galleries in the Metropolitan Museum and introduce you to one of the most important themes in world art:  human (often feminine) beauty, or glamour.  You will learn about the fabulous (and sometimes crazy!) things that people have done to live up to their cultures' standards of beauty.  You will see examples of fashion in history from complicated Imperial Roman hairdos to pre Columbian nose rings to 18th century beauty marks, corsets, codpieces, powdered wigs, and so on.  After 2 fun and informative hours, you will have a whole new view of art, and fashion, and possibly beauty....

This tour lasts 2 hours.  It begins and ends in the Great Hall of the Metropolitan Museum.  Ticket price includes admission to the museum and a group tour by a PhD art historian guide.

The tour is about everything glamorous. From the grand hairdos of Imperial Rome to the outrageous wigs of the court at Versailles; from gold ear spools in pre-Columbian America to neck rings in Africa and Southeast Asia; and from three hundred years of torturous corsets to three thousand years of gorgeous cosmetics, the history of fashion is on dazzling display at the Met. We'll look at fashion from head to toe, as well as inside out. (Just what did Victorian women wear underneath those giant hoops?) And we'll look at men, too—with their powdered wigs, white makeup, foppish ruffs and of course those ridiculous codpieces.

As always on a Shady Ladies tour, we'll go beneath the surface to get to the real story: the political, social, and even medical currents that shaped fashion and how it changed. Why did French courtiers wear foot-high wigs in the 17th century? Were beauty spots really used to cover up syphilis? And how did bicycles affect the way women dressed in the closing years of the 19th century? On this fun and informative tour you'll find out the answers to these and many more fascinating questions about fashion and beauty. Above all, we'll come to see that fashion is one of art's biggest topics—not only for what it tells us about changing standards of beauty, but also for what it reveals about the astonishing lengths to which people will go to attain it.

So come enjoy the beauty of the Met's stylish sitters—and learn how the obsession with beauty is as old as civilization itself…

Early in the visit, stop at an all-you-can-eat family-style restaurant where Amish food is prepared and served (not included in the cost of the tour). You will visit at least one of each of the following during the day: an Amish quilt shop; farm; farmers' market; water powered mill; country store; covered bridge; bake shop and more.
Pass by Amish farms, schools, cemeteries and businesses along way. See the Amish working in their fields, driving their horses and buggies and living a lifestyle more like the 1800s than today. It should be noted that each of these experiences is a real-life experience and encounter -- these are not staged tourist attractions. Your guide, living in that community, ensures your experience with their friends and neighbors is genuine and authentic.

At the end of the day, you will be driven back to New York City with fond memories of the Amish and Amish Country that are sure to last a lifetime.

Private Guided 42nd Street Architecture Tour

    Private Tours New York
    $150
Manhattan's 42nd Street is home to some of the most acclaimed architecture from some of this country's greatest architects and designers. However, New York is not just a collection of tall buildings; it is a collection of neighborhoods that changed with a growing city. You will see how these changes will effect what would happen on its avenues over time. The mysteries of how and why a neighborhood will transform, how what once was and what would be will influence architects and their design choices, will be revealed and explained.

When people think of 42nd Street, they usually do not think of architecture -- they think of Times Square. However, along 42nd Street, this city offers some of the best work by some of this country's greatest designers. Along this one avenue, there is the Art Deco icon, the most perfect railroad station ever built, the second largest library in the United States and the block with the highest concentration of theaters ever built. In between all of that, there is some of the most beautiful and under appreciated buildings ever designed and constructed.
New York is not just a collection of tall buildings; it is a collection of neighborhoods that changed with a growing city. You will see how these changes will effect what would happen on its avenues over time. The mysteries of how and why a neighborhood will transform, how what once was and what would be will influence architects and their design choices, will be revealed and explained.

This is a tour not just for architecture students, but a great introduction into the “how's” and “whys” New York City became the city we all know and love today.
