Multiday Tour Amsterdam
$34
This hop-on hop-off tour through Holland's picturesque countryside is the perfect way to explore outside the city and experience the rich culture! Depart from a central Amsterdam location on a bus destined for the beautiful countryside. The tour includes nine stops, which all promise a unique insight into Dutch history and tradition. There are buses every 30-45 minutes from each stop, which provides the perfect amount of freedom to enjoy your favorite area at your own leisure! Also included is an audio walking tour for each stop.

The first stop on the tour is to Broek in Waterland. This small village with a population of less than 2500 is definitely worth a visit. As this town was a popular residence for wealthy merchants and seafarers in the 17th and 18th centuries, much of the history has been well-preserved.

Monnickendam is the second stop on the tour and is rich in history. Although it is a small fishing village today, it holds much historical significance as a port in earlier centuries.

The cheese farm, "Jacobshoeve", provides a unique opportunity to witness the process of cheese making during a free guided tour. Take a look behind the scenes at the farm animals.

Volendam and Edam, both known for their fishing boats and scenery, are also stops on this countryside tour. Traditional Dutch costumes are still worn by some residents in Volendam, which was also once a retreat for famous artists. Both Picasso and Renoir spent time in this village during the 20th century. While smaller than Volendam, Edam holds particular fame for its cheese and beautiful historical center.

The sixth stop is Purmerend, a city surrounded by polders, offering boutique shops and an abundance of restaurants and cafes at the 'Veemarkt' (former cattle market).

The seventh stop is Zaanse Schans. Admire a collection of well-preserved historic windmills and see Dutch history come to life! A must-see during this hop-on hop-off tour.

The eighth stop brings you to Zaandam which was once the trade centre of the region in the 19th century!

The final stop brings you back to the starting point at THIS IS HOLLAND. Amsterdam's newest attraction offers the ultimate flight experience over Holland in Amsterdam.

As each stop is unique and provides its own slice of culture, this tour is perfect for discovering and exploring the Dutch countryside. Spending as much or as little time at each stop gives you the perfect flexibility that cannot be found elsewhere. When planning your trip to Holland, be sure not to miss this gem of a tour which is suitable for all!

Upgrading your tour ticket offers you free admission to two memorable adventures of your choice. This includes options such as viewing Amsterdam from the panoramic view at the LOOKOUT, museum admission in Edam, a tour or a photo in traditional Dutch clothing in Volendam, or even a scenic canal ride in Zaanse Schans. $122
Discover in a full day private sightseeing tour one of the most beautiful village in Holland: Giethoorn. After Giethoorn you will visit the windmills, and Volendam. You wil be picked up in Amsterdam in a luxury Mercedes sedan or minivan by a professional driver.

The elongated village Giethoorn is located in one of the largest areas of the Nature Association for, NP “De Wieden “. Along with the “Weerribben” it constitutes the largest continuous fenland NP areas in northern Europe.Way back in time peat diggers took peat from the soil, leaving it to dry and later cut peat. In two large floods (1776 and 1825) this vulnerable drying banks were washed away and lakes arose around Giethoorn. To transport the peat they dug ditches and canals that resulted in the typical village structure of Giethoorn. The traditional transportation for Giethoorn is the handmade wooden ”Gieterse Punter”. (A small sailing barge) Today there is also the ‘whisper' boat. An easy to use, environment-friendly, noiseless electric version.

Furthermore Giethoorn is an excellent starting point for canoe trips through the area. Another possibility to appreciate Giethoorn from the water; a trip by (covered) boat. The village offers a number of special museums. And for a varying range of art, you are welcome in the various Giethoorn (art) galleries and see craftsmen at work.

The Zaanse Schans is a residential area in which the 18th and 19th centuries are brought to life. You should be sure not to miss the cheese factory, pewter foundry and the various windmills. The Zaanse Schans is a unique part of the Netherlands, full of wooden houses, mills, barns and workshops. Make a cycling or sailing trip, browse the shops or treat yourself at the pancake restaurant. A day out at the Zaanse Schans in North Holland is fun and educational.
After the windmills we will visit Volendam, a small fishing village with 22000 citizens. Walk along the beautiful harbour with their typical Volendam shops and lunch at on of the best seafood restaurants in Holland where they still smoke their own eels. As last you can make a boat trip with the Volendam-Marken Express. For over 80 years the Volendam-Marken Express operates a ferry service between Volendam and Marken. The elongated village Giethoorn is located in one of the largest areas of the Nature Association for, NP “De Wieden “. Along with the “Weerribben” it constitutes the largest continuous fenland NP areas in northern Europe.

Way back in time peat diggers took peat from the soil, leaving it to dry and later cut peat.
