Crosstown Pizza Walking Tour (Little Italy and Greenwich Village)

Visit America's oldest pizzeria, and admire the sights of these two lovely neighborhoods as you walk.

Greenwich Village Pizza Walking Tour (North Village or South Village)

This Manhattan district was once a thriving Little Italy and is currently in the middle of a resurgence, with new shops being opened by recent Italian immigrants. Best of Brooklyn Half-Day Food and Culture Tour

Food Tours New York City
$125
The new culinary center of the Big Apple, where food and dining trends are dispersed to the rest of the country, is Brooklyn. And with this half-day tour, you can take a big bite out of it. From old ethnic enclaves to the latest hipster 'hoods, Brooklyn's dining scene is both diverse and cutting edge. Munch pierogies in Polish-dominated Greenpoint and hip farm-to-table fare in Williamsburg. This guided eating tour of New York's coolest and tastiest borough is ideal for foodies and the people who love them.

Welcome to Brooklyn, the coolest, most dynamic borough in the Big Apple. Not just the center of all things hip and artisanal, Brooklyn also happens to be one of the best places to eat in the country right now, where dining standards like locavore-ism and farm-to-fork trends hit here early on.

This guided half-day culture-and-food-centric tour winds throughout Brooklyn, revealing the hip 'hoods and the off-the-beaten-path eats that you'd be hard-pressed to find on your own.

Your journey begins in the historic West Village, the past and present home to some of the city's most influential residents. Then, along with your knowledgable food-crazed New Yorker guide, hop into the air-conditioned shuttle and venture across the Williamsburg Bridge.

Journey around the ultra-Orthodox Hasidic Jewish section of Williamsburg, where families stroll the bustling streets that look like they haven't changed in a generation or two, before hitting the hipster section of the neighborhood. Williamsburg is one of the best restaurant neighborhoods in the city where third-wave coffee roasters sit next to cutting-edge farm-to-fork restaurants. Indulge in a slice of Neapolitan pizza or a cannoli before moving next door to Greenpoint.

Wander around Greenpoint, a neighborhood where you may hear "dzień dobry" as much as "hello." That's because the area has long been home to the city's Polish residents. Stop into a traditional Polish eatery for scrumptious meat-stuffed pierogies and juicy kielbasas.

The tour suddenly gets sweet in DUMBO, an atmospheric part of town that stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Sample some delectable sweets at the Jacques Torres chocolate factory and then walk it all off at the recently re-constructed Brooklyn Bridge Park (make sure you bring your camera for the incredible views of the Manhattan skyline).

Then return to Manhattan, pleased with your newfound knowledge of New York's coolest borough.

Saturday Night in Historic Bed-Stuy

Food Tours New York
$39
This is not your average tour. It's an opportunity to hang out in a neighborhood famous for beautiful rows of brownstones and rich hip-hop culture. This is REAL Brooklyn where actual New Yorkers live and play. Come with us!

Bedford-Stuyvesant has a rich urban past, but in recent years has been touched by gentrification as it offers less-expensive housing alternatives to those in Williamsburg and Manhattan. In the 1990s, Bed-Stuy became associated with Spike Lee's famous movie 'Do The Right Thing' and hip-hop acts like Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z.

On this tour you will hop off the A train and meet your local guide at the first bar for check-in at 9pm. From there the group will walk to two more bars and end the night at a neighborhood dance party. Tempting as dinner may be, you'll proceed downstairs to the labyrinthine basement and perhaps catch a glimpse of renowned celebrity Chef Ronny Emborg prepping his kitchen for the evenings service. Further down this hallway you'll find Farm.One. Since this space houses both an operational farm production facility and an operational fine-dining restaurant, please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early and please do not loiter in the hallway.

Upon entering the farm, all visitors are subject to strict bio-security protocol which includes donning protective clothing and decontamination. After introducing yourselves and meeting your tour guide, each guest is provided with a beverage (Prosecco or water) and the tour will commence.

First your guide will give you an overview on the history of Farm. One, followed by a brief summary of the technology we utilize and the philosophy behind it. Following this, you'll enter the grow room where the magic happens. Each guest will get the chance to taste dozens of rare herbs, microgreens and edible flowers, accompanied by expert commentary and a more detailed look at the specific components from which the farm is constructed. Even veterans of New York's culinary scene will be surprised at the wide variety of flavors and aromas which our plants produce, and perhaps you'll be inspired to elevate your own cooking to the next level!

After tasting and examining almost everything on the Farm (all plants are 100% edible!), the tour will conclude and the group will be lead back into the staging room where you'll have a chance to ask your final questions and take a complimentary group photo.

Finally, before you leave, you'll receive a complimentary gift box containing a sampling of the herbs and microgreens encountered on the tour, for you to take home and enjoy or to help you share your Farm. One experience with your friends and family.

Chinatown is a one-of-a-kind New York neighborhood that all have heard of, but few have explored. Beginning as a tiny village near the East River in the early 1900's, Chinatown was mostly a bachelor society, seeing as Chinese immigrants were only allowed into the United States one at a time; no families were allowed in the United States. When this immigration limit was lifter in 1965, the Chinatown population exploded, and by 1980, New York's Chinatown district was (and still is) the largest of any American city.

  • Good thing your guide has line-jumping privileges, because word spread quickly about their amazing dumplings and pork buns!
  • A hidden gem...More like a hidden goldmine! This sprawling 10,000 square foot restaurant hidden on the windowless second floor of a nondescript building is a sight to be seen, and tasted...

  • Homemade, fresh baked fortune cookies are only the beginning. Wait til you try their almond cookies!

The High Line park and Greenwich Village are undoubtedly two of New York City's greatest attractions. Rather than take them on alone, get an expert to give you an insider's view of these amazing sites. This 3.5-hour tour covers the High Line, an elevated railway line that has been turned into a park, and then moves on to explore the food scene in historic Greenwich Village, a neighborhood once filled with bohemian artists and now the haunt of celebrities and models.

Make your way to the High Line to begin this exciting 3.5-hour guided walking tour of the elevated park and the famous Greenwich Village. Expect to be wowed by the High Line. Once an elevated railway line for cargo that went all the way down the west side of Manhattan, it fell into disuse and was eventually abandoned in the 1970s. It sat there unused and unloved for decades until a group of locals, with a few celebrities tossed in for good measure, began a movement to turn it into a park.

As you'll see during your walk, they succeeded. The first of three phases was completed in 2009. In September 2014, the third and final phase opened, completing a park that is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long and is enjoyed equally by tourists and locals.
Learn about all the public art in the park, as well as the new buildings by famous architects that can be seen from the High Line. Once you've reached the end, at the Meatpacking District, descend the stairs and meet Greenwich Village, one of New York's most historic and eye-pleasing neighborhoods. When New York City developed the grid street plan for Manhattan in the early 19th century, Greenwich Village already existed, which is why the neighborhood is a charming tangle of curving, confusing streets.

Explore the Village in a delicious way, through its food. Eat a slice of real Big Apple pizza and get clued in on where to find some of the best Italian specialties and chocolate confections in the city — you'll make up to six stops and sample enough food to make a full lunch of it. Yes, that's correct. We (New Yorkers) were Dutch and Wall Street was a real wall. If you already knew that, you'll still want to take our tour to find out how much of downtown New York is landfill and how much is really original New York. On our Historic Downtown tour of New York City you'll get to experience how the neighborhood has grown since 9/11, the Stone Street Historic District (the oldest neighborhood in Manhattan) and Trinity Church, to name just a few landmarks. There's so much New York history in this walking tour that every step opens up a new page in the history book. So come join us in Historic Downtown NYC and see for yourself!

Times Square, Hell's Kitchen Food Tour and Central Park Stroll

Food Tours New York
$139
How and why did the New Year's Eve ball drop tradition begin? How many Broadway theaters are there? There's only one way to find out. Take a Manhattan Walking Tour Times Square tour and get the answer to these questions and many more. Next, let's eat! Hell's Kitchen isn't really the place where denizens of the netherworld get their food. In fact, it's a neighborhood on the west side of midtown Manhattan that is crammed with ethnic eateries. This 4-hour guided tour explores the restaurants of Hell's Kitchen. Learn about the history and culture of the neighborhood. Then head to Central Park, the 843-acre (341-hectare) green wonderland in the center of the city, where you'll learn the secrets of park and visit parts you would have never found on your own.

Make your way to midtown Manhattan to meet your expert guide and head off to explore one of New York City's most bustling and diverse neighborhoods. Times Square and Hell's Kitchen may sound imposing, but they are both very welcoming and culturally rich parts of town.

Welcome to the Center of the Universe!

Times Square got its name from the New York Times building (The Times Tower). Well, there's a behind-the-scenes story that will tell you how it wasn't that simple. How and why did the New Year's Eve ball drop tradition begin? How many Broadway theaters are there? There's only one way to find out.

Once a rough-and-tumble neighborhood filled with poor Irish-Americans, Hell's Kitchen today is a safe area, its streets flanked by ethnic eateries. Stop by restaurants to munch on baba ghanoush, bourekas and the pièce de résistance: a doughnut and ice cream sandwich with lots of toppings. Sample enough food on this portion of the tour to make a full lunch.
Next, walk off those calories by following your guide to Central Park. The greatest urban park in the world holds many intriguing secrets. Can you guess what Central Park's real estate value is? Can you guess how long it took to build Central Park? Where does the only straight path in the park lead? These are some of the questions that will be answered as you explore the park.

Go to parts of the park many people don't know about, including a spot that feels as if you're miles and miles from the urban jungle that is New York City. Expect to walk about 3 miles (5 km) in all, at a comfortable pace; Hell's Kitchen is flat, and Central Park is a little hilly. The tour ends at Central Park, leaving you free to continue to explore the city on your own.

People moved into tenements in the Meatpacking District in the 1820s to escape epidemics in what was then the main part of New York. In 1900, 250 slaughterhouses and packing plants filled the district; by the 1930s, those houses produced the nation's third-largest volume of dressed meats. Five meatpacking companies still operate in the district. Boutiques and bars are more common than rump roasts these days, and the neighborhood continues to evolve almost daily.
