Your guide will lead you on to your next stop - a tiny and beautiful working vineyard in the heart of Montmartre. You will travel here by metro, as typical Parisians would. On the way you will stroll through the most Parisian of parks, the Tuileries, before heading for the lively and historical artist's quarter of Montmartre.
The presence of vines in Montmartre goes back to Roman times, making this the oldest vineyard in Paris. In the 18th century Montmartre was outside of the city of Paris, and so not subject to its taxes, making the wine and rents cheap, and so attracting the artists, dance halls and cabarets that the area became so famous for. Your guide will lead you on a walking tour around this captivating area, regaling you with stories of the lives of the artists and famous residents who once called Montmartre home. This tour also gives you VIP entry to the Clos Montmartre vineyard, closed to the general public and only opened for a special few. Take a tour of this charming vineyard, and end your tour with a tasting of their hard to come by wine.
At the end of your tour you are free to spend your evening in Montmartre, perhaps on the artists square at Place du Tertre, or in one of the typical bars or restaurants in the area. Your guide will be happy to make recommendations to ensure you spend a perfect Parisian evening.
